Set up and Pairs

Here we present the ten Sefirot without all the connecting lines. The focus here is on ‘pairs,’ which we’ve color coded.

This diagram illustrates the five dimensions:

  • Three of space
  • One of time
  • One of ‘spiritual status’ (good vs. evil, holy vs. unholy, etc.)

Looking at our pairs, we have:

  • Chesed/South and Gevurah/North
  • Tiferet/East and Yesod/West
  • Netzach/Up and Hod/Down
  • Chokhmah/Past and Binah/Future
  • Keter/Holy and Malchut/Unholy

The latter is not to say Malchut is ‘unholy’ or ‘evil’ as all the Sefirot are effectly ‘neutral.’ It simply represents the end of the spectrum ‘furthest’ from the light of G-d, to which Keter is seen as ‘closest.’
