Path of the Tzaddik

Here we introduce a concept. The lowest of the Sefirot, Malchut (in red), is called the first gate and associated with the “Shekinah,” the Divine Presence in the world.

The next Sefirah ‘up’ from Malchut is Yesod (in yellow). Note that everything going from Malchut to the upper Sefirot passes through Yesod. (As does everything coming down from above to Malchut.)

Yesod, as the Sefirah of ‘connectivity’ from below to above, is associated with the tzaddik, the righteous person serving G-d, who brings together the physical and spiritual worlds.

The life of such a person is represented by the dark line in the diagram between Malchut and Yesod.
