Connectivity and Levels of the Soul through the Parashot

Beginning with parsha Yitro, and the giving of the Ten Commandments, we see multiple examples of ‘connections’ with relation to the concept of Yichud Hashem – Unification of the Name (of G-d). All of these relate to the templates of the 4 Worlds and 10 Sefirot.

In parsha Yitro we have:

  • Jew & Gentile, The hidden 10 and the 7
  • Emunah & Bitachon, Binary vs. 50 Shades (Gam Zu Latovah)

Mishpatim (Action)

  • “Judgments”: Themitzvotform a composite harmonious unit. The two-hundred forty-eight positive commandments of the Torah parallel the 248 limbs and organs of the human body, so that a mitzvah is associated with each limb or organ of the human body.
  • Chesed and Gevurah. Micah 6:8 and Matthew 23:23

Terumah (Intellect)

  • ‘Elevation’ (of Sacrifice). Bride to Groom.
“Make the Tabernacle out of ten tapestries….The two sets of tapestries can then be joined together, so that the Tabernacle will be one piece.” (Ex. 26:1-6)

Also with these three parashot we see connectivity between the aspects of ‘heart, strength and mind,’ as related to Deuteronomy 6.5. (Love the Lord your G-d with all your heart, mind and strength.) In parsha Yitro we find a great deal of emotion (i.e., Yitro crying in joy),

s taught, there are five levels of the soul, however most people will at best attain the third, which is the Nashama. This level may be considered, “the individual higher consciousness.” This is the connection to Torah that may be equated to being “born again.”

The 4th level of the soul, Chayah, is related to the idea of, “the collective unconscious of the group.” This is where Moses sought to connect the people, at the level the Ohr Ein Sof.

The name of the parsha Tetzaveh comes from TZAVSA which carries the meaning “to connect.”

Ketoret (Incense) = from KATAR (Aramaic): “connection”

Tefillah (Prayer) = “The Hebrew word for prayer, Tefillah,
also
means connection.“  (askmoses.com)

Karbanot (Offering) = from KAREV: “to come near”
